Created by Tiffany Kirk for Miss Carousel cocktail bar in Houston, the Dead Man’s Handle features blanco tequila and bittersweet Aperol, with delicate undertones of almond syrup. This icy sipper is finished with a generous dusting of Tajín seasoning that tickles the taste buds with chile salt and lime.
And if that isn’t enough to impress, you can tell your friends the story behind the name. A dead man’s handle is a switch – most commonly used on trains – that is designed to activate or deactivate to stop the machine or bring it back to a safe state in the event that the human operator becomes incapacitated. Think of it as a kill switch – only the one in your glass is more of a killer combo. We’d say you can pry it from our cold, dead hands… except our hands won’t be cold because we’re using the Hybrid Cocktail Glass. Obvi.
