Inspired by the classic Collins cocktail – comprised of spirit, sugar and citrus – today's tipple takes things up an autumnal notch with notes of pear and ginger.
Early iterations of the Tom Collins are attributed to John Collins, who worked as a bartender at the Limmer's Hotel in London. The cocktail was typically made with genever or Old Tom Gin, hence the cocktail's name. But it's unclear whether Collins invented it or simply influenced its popularity.
Our Spiced Pear Collins features a delicious combination of gin and pear liqueur complemented by fresh sour lemon juice and a smidge of gingersnap syrup, topped off with soda water to add dilution and allow the botanicals to shine. The result is crisp and refreshing like the perfect fall day – sugar and spice, and everything nice.
