Ancient Mariner (Navy Grog Inspired)

Yet another creation of Jeff “Beachbum” Berry with a typical tiki construction including a split rum base. This was Beachbum Berry’s remake of Trader Vic’s Navy Grog. The small measure of all spice brings depth to what is essentially a form of rum sour.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz. Dark Jamaican Rum
  • 1 oz. Demerera Rum
  • ¼ oz. Allspice Dram 
  • ¾ oz. Lime Juice
  • ¾ oz. Simple Syrup
  • ¼ oz. White Grapefruit Juice

Directions

  1. Combine all the ingredients into your Hybrid Cocktail Shaker.
  2. Shake with ice.
  3. Strain over fresh ice into a double old fashioned glass.
  4. Garnish with a mint sprig and lime wedge.
