Coco Ube

If you think mezcal isn’t your thing, today's cocktail might just change your mind. Crafted by Japhet Bower at Lopan Cocktail & Snack Bar in Toronto, this eye-catching purple drink features a delightful blend of vodka, mezcal and nigori sake. Nigori is a type of unfiltered sake known for its cloudy appearance and creamy, slightly sweet flavor, making it a perfect complement to the drink.

The star of the show, though, is the deliciously nutty ube syrup, derived from purple yam, which adds a unique twist and vibrant color. Topped with a generous dollop of homemade coconut foam, this cocktail transcends the ordinary into a multi-dimensional taste experience.

What truly sets this drink apart is the balance of flavors. The bold, smoky notes of mezcal are expertly complemented by the smooth finish of vodka and the creamy character of the sake. Each sip offers a refreshing yet indulgent experience, making it a standout choice. With its innovative ingredients and impressive flavor profile, this cocktail is sure to become a favorite.
