The Death Flip was created in 2010 by bartender Chris Hysted for the bar Black Pearl in Melbourne Australia. When the cocktail first appeared on the menu, no ingredients were listed and if you asked what was in the drink, the bartender wouldn't tell you. The only thing offering the customer a hint as to what they were getting into was the ominous description: “You don’t wanna meet this cocktail in a dark alley.”

1 oz. Blanco Tequila
½ oz. Yellow Chartreuse
½ oz. Jägermeister
1 Dash simple syrup
1 Whole egg
Fresh ground nutmeg (for garnish)
Add all ingredients (other than nutmeg) to your Hybrid Cocktail Shaker and dry shake (without ice) hard for 8-10 secondd to emulsify the egg.
Add ice and shake an additional 8-10 seconds.
Strain into a chilled Coupe glass and garnish with freshly grated nutmeg on top.
