Don's Own Grog

An exceptional but somewhat forgotten tiki classic! From Don The Beachcomber, ca. 1937. Unique in its use of blackberry liqueur - Real Grenadine and demerara sugar bring a rich dose of fruitiness. Break out the premium rums here folks!

Ingredients

  • 1 oz. Aged rum (Plantation 5 year recommended)
  • ½ oz. Light rum (Plantation 3 Stars recommended)
  • ½ oz. Hamilton 86 demerara rum
  • ½ oz. Blackberry liqueur
  • ¼ oz. Demerara Gum Syrup
  • 1 barspoon Real Grenadine
  • ¾ oz. Fresh lime juice
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients to your Hybrid Cocktail Shaker.
  2. Add ice and shake hard for 10 seconds.
  3. Stain into a rocks glass filled with ice.
  4. Garnish with grated nutmeg and fresh blackberries.
