The Elevated Craft Team
Dust off your watering can, because it's time to seriously consider growing your own cocktail garden.
We recently picked up a copy of Cocktails, Mocktails and Garnishes from the Garden by Katie Stryjewski (aka @garnish_girl on Instagram). The book is a great guide for getting started growing fresh ingredients. You'll learn about herbs, flowers, fruit and veggies, and the tasty drinks you can make with them. It's also packed with 50 cocktail recipes to keep your shaker busy.
The Ginger Sage Smash may be the last one listed, but it's certainly not the least delicious. Made with four simple ingredients, this cocktail's "secret sauce" is its sage leaves muddled with ginger syrup – which creates an earthy, savory and slightly minty flavor that is fresh and enjoyable. Don't forget to finish with an edible flower.
