Today we're shaking up a classic Cuban cocktail with a twist, named after Swedish-American film actress and Hollywood star Greta Garbo.
She's elegant and sweet, and you can find a similar version of her served at Miami's Café La Trova. This daiquiri includes the usual suspects – rum, lime and sugar – and adds interest with absinthe and a touch of sweet, earthy maraschino liqueur.
The exact history of this drink is a little fuzzy, but the original daiquiri is credited to Jennings Cox, an American mining engineer who combined Bacardi, lime and sugar in a glass following his 1898 expedition in the small village of Daiquirí, Cuba.
