The Elevated Craft Team
Created in 2017 by Jeremy Oertel at NYC’s famed Death & Co. and described as being as vibrant as it is delicious, the Hurricane Kick is your ticket to a taste of summer during these cold winter months all while gearing up for Mardi Gras next week.
Unleash the storm of flavor with this split-base cocktail featuring the earthy and vegetal flavors of tequila & the funk and smoke often found in mezcal while lime juice provides a citrusy kick, balancing the two spirits beautifully. The cocktail finishes with ginger syrup, providing a spicy kick inviting you to feel the warmth while dancing with the cool breeze of tropical ingredients.
Cheers!

The first North American Mardi Gras was celebrated in Alabama - not Louisiana.
French-Canadian explorer Pierre Le Moyne d’Iberville arrived in what is now modern day Mobile, Alabama on Fat Tuesday, 1699. He named the location Point du Mardi Gras and threw a little party. In the years that followed, French travelers would come to the spot explicitly for Fat Tuesday celebrations. To this day, Mobile, Alabama claims to hold the oldest Mardi Gras celebrations in the United States.
