In this week's Friday Buzz email we present to you the Pear Ginger Smash. This fall-inspired recipe and beautiful garnish are sure to spark some cocktail creativity.

1.5 oz. Gin
0.75 oz. Lemon juice
0.25 oz. Simple Syrup
0.25 oz. Pear Brandy
0.25 oz. Ginger liqueur
2 dashes Aromatic Bitters
1 dash of Maple Pecan Bitters
5 pear slices
1-1 inch chunk of ginger
1 Large Clear Ice Cube
Additional pear slices for garnish
Add pear to cocktail glass and muddle.
Add ginger chunks to shaker.
Add gin, pear brandy, ginger liqueur, simple syrup, lemon juice, and bitters to the shaker.
Add ice to shaker and shake for 10-15 seconds.
Serve over a large ice cube in your Hybrid Cocktail Glass.
Garnish with pear slices.
If you don’t have Pear Brandy or Ginger Liqueur in your home bar then you can spice up the drink with homemade ginger, cinnamon or cardamom simple syrup. Pears will also have varying sugar levels so adjust the sweetness to taste. Consider bumping the Gin to 2oz if you aren't using the liqueur modifiers. The core of this drink is the play on ginger, gin and the subtle pear undertones. Have fun making your own riff and let us know what you come up with by posting on The Crew.
