What is Sloe Gin?
Sloe gin is a fruity liqueur made by infusing gin with sloe berries. Depending on the recipe, some people may add sugar during the infusion process, but this step is not always necessary. To achieve full maturity, it is essential to let the sloe berries steep in the gin for three to four months. The resulting drink has a ruby color and a unique flavor, both tart and slightly bitter. It is worth noting that in 2008, the European Union established a minimum ABV of 25% for beverages labeled as Sloe Gin.
Why Laird's Brandy?
Laird's Brandy boasts a rich and captivating history crafted by the same family for over three centuries. As the oldest licensed distillery in the United States, the Laird family's legacy in American history includes providing spirits to George Washington during the Revolutionary War. The Brandy is made exclusively from American apples and distilled in a copper pot still. Afterward, it is aged for at least three years in oak barrels, resulting in a luscious, velvety taste ideal for enjoying straight or blending into cocktails.
