The Forbidden Fruit
The Elevated Craft Team
For this week's Friday Buzz, we present The Forbidden Fruit. This tantalizing concoction was inspired by Death & Co.'s cocktail, Sling of Aphrodite. If you don't have a bottle of Rhum Agricole this recipe is a good excuse to pick one up. The delightful combination of grassy Rhum Agricole and sweet Fuji apples creates a nice balance. Let us know your thoughts on this recipe by posting your comments on the EC Crew.

If you want to learn more about the wide world of rum, we highly recommend checking out this Rum Guide Video from Andres Erickson. He covers all the basics and by the end of the video you will have a few new bottles to check out in your liquor store.
- 1 oz. Muddled Cinnamon Sticks
- 2 cups Water
- 2 cups Superfine Sugar
In a saucepan, combine all the ingredients and bring to a boil while stirring occasionally. Once boiling, reduce the heat, cover, and let it simmer for 4 minutes. After 4 minutes, turn off the heat and let the mixture stand overnight.
The next day, strain the mixture through a cheesecloth-lined sieve, and the Cinnamon Syrup is ready to be used in your favorite dishes. Enjoy!
