This cocktail was created in 1939 as an answer to Don The Beachcomber's Zombie. On the menu in 1940 is said, 'Served with either crutches or a wheelchair'. This is a pretty potent drink and you may need some help if you have more than two.
This was originally made with 151 proof Demerara rum and 123 proof Cuban rum. I subbed it for Don Q 151 Puerto Rican Rum as suggested in the Total Tiki app.
Now, I'll take a Zombie over this any day but for my palate it's a fine one to sip on and would make it again.
Give this one a try and see what you think. Even if you don't enjoy it as much, it'll give you one helluva buzz! Cheers! - Steve Cervantes
