Snake Eyes

Meet Snake Eyes, a cocktail that proves mezcal isn’t just for sipping straight or mixing into bold, boozy classics. Originally created at Brooklyn’s Grand Army Bar, this drink flips the script by pairing mezcal’s signature smokiness with soft tropical flavors like coconut water and a whisper of banana liqueur.

With just a splash of lime and demerara syrup to tie it all together, the result is a light-bodied cocktail that feels equal parts beachside and barroom. Coconut adds natural sweetness and silky texture, while mezcal keeps things grounded. Banana liqueur is a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it ingredient, but the flavor payoff is big.

If you’ve been mezcal-curious but hesitant to dive into the deep end, Snake Eyes is the perfect place to start. Shake it up, pour it over ice, and discover just how versatile this ancient spirit can be.
