French Martini

A 90s icon, revisited.

Fruity, flirty, and full of throwback charm, the French Martini helped kick off the flavored martini craze of the 1990s. Created by bartender Dale DeGroff at Keith McNally’s Balthazar in New York, the drink blends vodka, pineapple juice, and Chambord, a French black raspberry liqueur that gives the cocktail its name and signature berry flavor.

When shaken with ice, the pineapple juice creates a light froth and smooth texture. But for our taste, the drink leaned a bit too sweet. We added a splash of lemon juice to brighten things up and balance the fruitiness. If you're after an even silkier texture, try adding an egg white for extra body and richness.
