Missionary's Downfall

An underrated tiki treasure.

The Missionary’s Downfall may not have the name recognition of a Mai Tai or Zombie, but this tropical classic deserves a spot in every cocktail lover’s rotation. Created by tiki pioneer Donn Beach in the early days of Don the Beachcomber, the drink showcases his knack for combining fresh ingredients in ways that still feel surprisingly modern.

The Missionary’s Downfall is a perfect example. Fresh pineapple and mint bring bright, refreshing flavors, while white rum and peach liqueur add tropical depth and just the right amount of sweetness. Lime juice keeps everything lively, and honey syrup ties it all together with a smooth finish.

Traditionally served frozen, it’s cool, aromatic, and dangerously easy to sip. One taste and you'll wonder why this tiki gem isn't talked about more often.
